Warbound Storm Gameplay and Guide

If you’re a fan of Starcraft, Warcraft, and Red Alert, then Warbound Storm should be a must-play. Imagine playing your favorite classic real-time strategy game on your mobile phone? I myself have been waiting for this for a long time.

Warbound Storm is a real-time strategy game created by Lemon Games and published by NetEase. You are a summoner that constructs buildings, produces units/soldiers, and destroys the enemy base.

It is available for download for Android.

In this article, we will cover the basics and know how the RTS works in a smartphone. Curious about how to play Warbound Storm? If you do then continue reading on.

Gameplay

The gameplay is almost the same in the classic RTS PC versions, you build a base, create your diverse troops and destroy the enemy base to win.

Create Crystal Mines

Like your classic RTS, you need to create buildings to train units but before that, you need resources. There will be a crystal mine already set up for you at the beginning of the match but you can also choose to expand so you get resources fast. To do this:

Drag a crystal mine structure to the crystal vein that can be found all throughout the map to start building.

A helpful tip: It is better to create as many crystal mines as you can in the early stages of the game. With this, you’ll get resources faster which can help build your units and buildings.

Create Structures

Click on Buildings. To build your base, just drag a structure to the position you want them to rise. It also has its build time.

Different kinds of structures:

  • Turrets – defensive towers that shoot projectiles at enemies
  • Light Barracks – trains Dwarf Infantry, Crossbowman, etc.
  • Heavy Barracks – trains Royal Knight, Catapult, etc.
  • Air Barracks – trains Giant Wyvern, ASD, etc.
  • Crystal Mine – produces resources necessary for building structures and creating units.
Create Units

To train your unit, just click on army and click on the unit you want to summon.

Control your Units

To micro-manage your units, just click the unit below and click on a location you want to put them to. If you want to select them all then click Squads.

If you think that your unit is senough to destroy your enemy then charge on!

Cards

The cards you have represent the units that you can deploy every game. You can only have a specific number of units that you can deploy each match so you need to strategize what combination of cards works best.

Casting Magic

A unique feature that they added is the active cast spells that you can use during the battle. The first thing that you need to do is to build a Magic Tower. Then you need to craft the card as to how many it requires. To use it, just drag the card that you want to use to the location that you want it to take effect.

Things to consider:

In Warbound Storm. there is a time limit and a scoring system. How does it work?

If neither base has been destroyed, the side with the higher points when the time is up wins. You get points by destroying enemy units.

Rank

There are seven rank placements in Warbound Storm:

  • Infantry
  • Warrior
  • Elite
  • Knight
  • General
  • Marshal
  • War Hero
  • Legend

Golden Pass

Just like any other VIP pass, buying one will get you exclusive skins and rewards. There are two types of pass: The Storm Pass and Storm Pass plus. Below you can see the perks of having one of these passes.

First Impressions

The game is great and has a lot of potential. But I think it has a lot to improve on especially on the User Interface side. Anyways, I liked that they added a time limit and a scoring system to the game, adapting very well to the mobile gaming standard of being fast-paced.

Other Tips:

  • Don’t forget to claim your sign-in rewards if you log in for 7 consecutive days.
  • Do quests where you can claim rewards by completing simple tasks such as logging in or completing a certain number of matches.

That covers all the basics and everything you need to know from the start. Have you tried playing Warbound Storm? How was it? Share your thoughts below!
