Malphite is a tank champion that is very versatile and has good crowd control. You can play him as middle, top, jungle or even as a support. His passive and innate tankiness makes him the perfect guy in the front lines. With the right build, he can also easily take down squishy heroes with a well executed combo.
How to Play Malphite
- Malphite can stand against enemy poking because if his Granite Shield that grants shield every few seconds
- Use Seismic Shard to poke enemies in the lane
- You can also use Seismic Shard’s movement speed bonus to flee from enemies
- If enemy champions are out of range, you can use Seismic Shard on either minion or jungle creeps for the speed bonus
- Thunderclaps also provide additional armor for Malphite
- Thunderclap and Ground Slam is a good tool in clearing minion waves faster
- Ground Slam’s slow is effective on enemies who rely on basic attacks
- Use Unstoppable Force to initiate a teamfight
- Unstoppable Force can also be used to escape from enemies
- Though very strong against physical attacks, Malphite is vulnerable to magic damage so buying items with magic resist is a good option too
- Skill Combo: 2nd Skill > 4th Skill > 3rd Skill > 1st Skill
Skills
Passive / Granite Shield: Shield 65 damage after not taking any damage for 8 seconds.
Skill 1 / Seismic Shard: Launches a shard that deals magic damage, slows the target by 15% and hasting Malphite by 15% for 3 seconds.
Skill 2 / Thunderclap: Passive: Gains 6 Armor. Active: For the next 6 seconds, attack deal physical damage in a cone. The first attack is empowered to deal physical damage to the target.
Skill 3 / Ground Slam: Slams the ground, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies and reducing their attack speed by 30% for 3 seconds.
Skill 4 / Unstoppable Force: Charges to the target area, dealing magic damage and knocking up nearby enemies for 1.5 seconds.

Runes
- Grasp of the Undying – Every 4 seconds in combat, your next attack on a champion will be enhanced based on your max health.
- Champion – Gain 10% damage against champions. Lose 5% each time you die until the bonus disapperas.
- Conditioning – Gain 8 bonus AR and MR after 5 minutes of game time.
- Manaflow Brand – Hitting an enemy champion with an ability or empowered attack permanently increases your max mana by 30, up to 300 mana.
- Electrocute – Hitting a champion with 3 separate attacks or abilities in 3 seconds deal bonus adaptive damage.
- Brutal – Gain 7 AD and 2% armor Penetration or 14 AP and 2% magic penetration.
- Regeneration – Every 3 seconds, regen 2% missing health or mana based on which percentage is lower.
- Manaflow Brand – Hitting an enemy champion with an ability or empowered attack permanently increases your max mana by 30, up to 300 mana.
