The main objective of the game, just like any other MOBA, is destroy the enemy base. But we all know that it’s easier said than done, as there are a lot of things to do and consider in achieving those much wanted victory.
If you have played League of Legends before then you’re good, and if you have played other Mobile MOBA, the better. Having experienced both means you have little to no adjustment in playing Wild Rift. But if you’re new to the genre, trust me when I say that the game is easy to understand and would just be a piece of cake to you if you’re doing it repeatedly.
In this article, I will guide you on everything you need to know about the game to help you get through it from the start.
Ready for your League of Legends: Wild Rift journey?
Game Modes
You can play Normal PVP, AI, Training (Tutorials or Practice), Custom (Blind Pick or Draft Pick) or Ranked and work your way up to the leaderboards. Take note that ranked games are accessible after reaching level 10.
All heroes are accessible in the Practice mode.
Map
The map is almost identical to the PC version but in this case its mirrored, meaning in your POV, you will always be on the lower side even if you are positioned in the top. Luckily, there are indicators to see the lane that you wanted to go, whether it is Baron or Dragon lane.
Wards
In this game, you have the ability to place wards. Placing wards on a specific location will reveal enemy whereabouts for 90 seconds.
You can also swap it for a Sweeping Lens, where you can use it to scan the surrounding around you, revealing hidden enemies, traps and will also reveal wards for 10 seconds.
These trinkets are free and are recharged after you use it.
Items
Items are categorized into physical, magic, defense and boots. There is also a recommended area if you don’t have any idea on what to buy.
To click the items, just click the Gold button just below the minimap.
Don’t be surprised if you can’t click the item icon whenever you are outside, as items can only be bought inside the base.
Laning
Laning is very easy to understanding in Wild Rift. There is also an indicator in the map of the locations of the lanes so you won’t be confused.
- Mid – Solo Assassins or Mage
- Jungle – AOE/CC heroes, good in ganking and for clearing jungle minions
- Solo (Baron Lane) – Fighters, Tanks, Team Figthers
- Duo (Dragon Lane) – Marksman and Support
Targets
What I love about Wild Rift is that they made targeting much easier because it has been my dilemma ever since I played MOBA in smartphones.
You can just click the attack button and drag it to whichever target you want to attack. After choosing a target, you can just leave it to auto attack that specific target.
There is also an option to click the minion or turret button to target each respectively.
Objectives
The main objective is to destroy the enemy Nexus, but as I have said, it is easier said than done. But no worries, there are things that you need to do or you can accomplish to made this feat much easier.
Clear Lanes and Farm
Before you even get to destroy towers, you need to boost your strength. Farming by killing minions and clearing waves can be a good option. Killing a hero too would give a huge amount of Gold and will make them level gap.
Remember, clearing objectives such as pushing lanes is more important than having a lot of kills.
Destroy Towers
Destroying turrets is very important, as it is the only way for your team to be allowed to destroy the enemy Nexus.
Attacking heroes within the range of the turret will cause the turret to attack you.
Destroying the inhibitor turret will give you powerful minions in that lane, and will also allow your team to attack the enemy Nexus.
Defeat Dragons and Baron Nashor
Having Baron and dragon buffs is one important aspect of the game. Though it is optional, it really gives you a much needed boost for your team and will increase your chances of winning.
You can click my article below for the full guide of these monsters and their buffs:
Destroy Nexus
The most important part of the game, besides making the enemy surrender, is to destroy the enemy Nexus. Doing so will grant your team the much wanted victory.
Take note that you need to have minions within the Nexus attack range to deal damage to it.
Just keep in mind everything that was mentioned above and I assure you that your life in the Rift will be not that complicated. Of course, there are a still a lot for you to consider in winning, but those things are not taught and can only be known through experience. Just don’t forget to enjoy the game and everything will be fine.
