Wild Rift Patch 2.4 Brings in Akshan, New Items, Ranked Season and a Lot More

Wild Rift Patch 2.4

A new champion, 19 new / reworked items, a new ranked season, Wild Pass and the much awaited champion bans are coming to the Rift with the new Patch 2.4.

It also features automatic highlights, system adjustments and the ever reliable double network feature.

New Champion

Akshan

Akshan Wild Rift

Akshan fights evil with dashing charisma, righteous vengeance, and a conspicuous lack of shirts. He is highly skilled in the art of stealth combat, able to evade the eyes of his enemies and reappear when they least expect him.

New Features

New Ranked Season (3)

The new ranked season brings a lot of new updates such as if you reach Gold and win 10 games this season, the skin Glorious Lulu will be added to your skin collections.

Ban

The much awaited champion bans arrives too where the last three players on both teams will simultaneously ban one champion each on rank games. Only 3 bans per team as of now but they are planning to increase it to five each in the future.

Promotion Matches Removed

Promotion matches on rank were removed as they found out that it were doing more harm than good. You can check this page ‘Patch 2.4 updates‘ for the in depth explanation as to why they removed this feature.

Wild Pass Season 2

Time to grind again as the Wild Pass returns for the 2nd time. They’ve added a few upgrades from the previous one. Wild Pass will now be permanent and will have no more downtime between each pass.

  • Overall, we’re increasing the amount of Blue Motes, Poro Coins and Poro Energy you get from purchasing the pass. For example, this time around, you can earn enough Blue Motes for a full champion.
  • We’re increasing the amount of free rewards you’ll get while leveling up.
  • We’re enabling you to gift the pass to other players on your friends list.
  • And despite these buffs, the price isn’t changing.

Highlights

No need to go to your match history and rewatch your game to record it as Patch 2.4 brings in the Highlights feature. If you turn this on, the game will record your best moments such as multi kills or dragon / baron steals. You can view it after the game and save it on your phone.

Spectator

They’ve added new features in the Spectator mode. You can now toggle between Fog of War of the red and blue side and a lot more.

End-of-Game Screen

They have also added progression systems to the end-of-game screen so you’ll have a better understanding of your progress each game.

Crystalline Reflector

  • Cost: 2900
  • Builds from Seeker’s Armguard + Fiendish Condex + 700 Gold
  • 60 AP
  • 45 Armor
  • 15 Ability Haste
  • Passive / Mirrored Force: Ability casts grant a mirror shard (up to 3) that each block 10 +5% AP physical Damage from an enemy champion and deal 20 + 10% AP magic damage to them.

Essence Reaver

  • Cost: 3100
  • Builds from Caudfield’s Warhammer + Cloak of Agility + 900 Gold
  • 40 AD
  • 25% Critical Rate
  • 25 Ability Haste
  • Unique / Essence Flare: Damaging active abilities and empowered attacks deal 10 bonus damage +70% Critical Rate. The same ability can only trigger this effect once per unique target per cast.
  • Unique / Mana Siphon:
  • Attacks restore 2% missing mana on-hit

Navori Quickblades

  • Cost: 3100
  • Builds from Caudfield’s Warhammer + Cloak of Agility + 900 Gold
  • 45 AD
  • 25% Critical Rate
  • 15 Ability Haste
  • Passive / Deft Strikes:
  • Your critical strikes with basic attacks reduce your non-ultimate ability cooldowns by 15% of their remaining cooldown.

Prophet’s Pendant

  • Cost: 1250
  • Builds from Amplifying Tome + 750 Gold
  • 125 Health
  • 25 Ability Power
  • Passive / Doomsayer: +15 Magic Penetration

Seeker’s Armguard

  • Cost: 1200
  • Upgrades from Cloth Armor (500g) + 700 Gold
  • 30 Armor
  • 25 AP

Serylda’s Grudge

  • Cost: 3000
  • Builds from Caulfield’s Warhammer + Last Whisper + 500 Gold
  • 40 AD
  • 15 Ability Haste
  • 30% Armor Penetration
  • Unique / Bitter Cold: Dealing ability damage slows affected units by 30% for 1 second.

Staff of Flowing Water

  • Cost: 2500
  • Builds from Fiendish Codex + Lost Chapter + 450 Gold
  • 350 Mana
  • 65 AP
  • 20 Ability Haste
  • Passive / Rapids: Healing or shielding an ally grants you and them 20 Ability Haste speed and 20 − 40 (based on target’s level) ability power for 4 seconds.

Stormrazor

  • Cost: 2900
  • Builds from Cloak of Agility + Kircheis Shard + 1000 Gold
  • 25 AD
  • 25% Critical Rate
  • 20% Attack Speed
  • Passive / Energized: Moving and Attacking will generate an Energized Attack.
  • Passive / Paralyze: Your Energized Attack gains 50-120 bonus magic damage. In addition, Energized Attacks slow enemies by 75% for 0.5 seconds

Solari Chargeblade

  • Cost: 3000
  • Builds from Stinger + Cloak of Agility + 800 Gold
  • 30% Attack Speed
  • 25% Critical Rate
  • 25 Ability Haste
  • Unqiue / Sunburst: Using an ability gathers Radiance (max 3 charges) which grants 25% critical rate for up to 10 seconds. Attacks that critically strike expend a charge of Radiance to deal 26-40 bonus True Damage on-hit, increasing up to 150% on low health targets. Each unique ability may only store a charge once every 2s.
  • Max True Damage: 65-100 when target is <= 35% Health

Wit’s End

  • Cost: 2700
  • Builds from Recurve Bow + Negatron Cloak + 900 Gold
  • 50 Magic Resist
  • 45% Attack Speed
  • Passive / At Wit’s End:
  • Basic attacks deal 15 − 80 (based on level) bonus magic damage on-hit. While below 50% health, dealing damage to an enemy champion heals you for (Melee:100% / Ranged: 33%) of this effect’s post-mitigation damage.

Systematic

Champion Changes

Systematic

  • A yes from 5 players are required for an early surrender at 5 minutes
  • Cooldowns from skills, spells or items can now be pinged on the scoreboard
  • Death Recap now shows the source of damage that killed you
  • Time allowance between Quadra and Penta Kill are increased
  • Updated the display for the minion gold penalty when Smite is equipped
  • Health bars now have an added effect that better displays when an ability consumes your health or heals you

Rift Herald

Initial Spawn Time: from 360 seconds to 240 seconds

Ignite

Now applies 60% grievous wound

Passive Gold

  • Gold gained per second from 4 Gold to 3 Gold after 8 minutes to 3.5 Gold for the entire match
  • Graceful Charity: Starting from 5 minutes, the teammate with the lowest gold amount will receive an additional 1g per second

Kill, Assists and Bounties Gold

Player Behavior

AFK Adjustments

Initial AFK punishments for certain modes such as Co-Op vs AI have been made more lenient, Repeat or frequent AFK punishments will still be treated normally.

Lost Ranked Fortitude points are distributed to non-premade allies.

Permaban Mark

Permabanned accounts will now display a permaban mark on their profile and friends list card.

Reporting

Report Screen now has a higher character limit.

  • Announcement voiceover can now be disabled through the in-game Settings menu
  • Once a day, you can reroll the offerings in the Poro Store. You can also Pin any items to to prevent them from rerolled.
