Wild Rift Patch 2.3 Brings in Riven and Irelia

The new patch 2.3 arrives today featuring the arrival of Riven and Irelia together with new features such as the return of ARAM, Close Friends features, Friend Subscriptions, Network Tools, changes to runes and a lot more. Both new champions will be released on June 3 at 0:01 UTC.

Notable Changes

New Champions

Riven

Riven is an expatriate in a land she previously tried to conquer. She rose through the ranks on the strength of her conviction and brutal efficiency, and was rewarded with a legendary runic blade and a warband of her own.

Irelia

Trained in the ancient dances of her province, Irelia adapted her art for war, using the graceful and carefully practised movements to levitate a host of deadly blades. After proving herself as a fighter, she was thrust into the role of resistance leader and figurehead, and to this day remains dedicated to the preservation of her homeland

New Features

Close Friends

You and your besties can now level up playing together and earn friendship titles. You can invite up to 20 friends to be a close friends.

Once they accept your invitation to be close friends, you can now play together or gift each other to increase your level to 4 different tiers:

• Perfect Partners
• The Might of Family
• Inseparable Allies
• Best Buddies

You can browse a timeline of your memories with your friends playing Wild Rift Together.

What are the perks of these upgraded friendships?

• Shared Champion Pools
• Online notifications
• Friend status streaks
• showing off your status to other players

So basically it is a great way to flex your friendship to other people!

Friend Subscriptions

You can subscribe to any three friends in your list so you’ll be notified when they come online or finish a match. They will also appear on top of your friends list.

This is a perfect opportunity to keep track of your favorite teammates so you can play efficiently or for the sole purpose of monitoring their progress (lol).

ARAM is back

All Random All Mid is back earlier than they originally planned based on the feed back of the community. It will be available for the month of June and July.

Champ Select

We can now switch our draft order to accommodate comfort and counter picks.

Network Tools

Finally, you can now check your connection before you get into the game. It is located in the top right of the home screen.

4G / WIFI

This is the feature that I’m been waiting for quite some time. You can now simultaneously use both your mobile data and WiFi while playing to ensure good connection. Cheers!

Runes

Patch 2.3 brings a significant changes to runes. Head to the article made by Wild Rift Devs for an in depth explanation about the rune changes.

Basically, they have removed and replaced, adjusted some of the runes that are underperforming and needs reshaping.

This event will begin on June 3 1:01 UTC where you will complete missions featuring Riven and Irelia and unlock one of them for free.
