Katana, The Ronin Dex, allows Axie Infinity players to swap between assets such as SLP, AXS, USDC, and WETH within the Axie Infinity Ecosystem. With this, players can now avoid the gas fees of going through other exchanges such as MetaMask and a lot more. Ronin Dex is built on the Ethereum-link sidechain Ronin, making Axie Infinity one of the first games in the world to have its own Decentralized Exchange.
Before, players have to use cross-chain bridges to purchase or swap tokens for them to breed or buy Axies that creates friction in the user experience. With the creation of the Ronin Dex, players are given more direct access to other tokens without having to leave the Axie Ecosystem.
Katana will also make breeding and buying Axies easier and accessible for players as they can easily swap their SLPs to AXS for breeding and at the same time swap their SLPs to WETH to buy Axies.
How to Use Ronin Dex to Swap Tokens
To use Katana, you need to set up a Ronin Wallet. If you already have one, just use your password to open your wallet or import your seed phrase(Never reveal your seed phrase to anyone). You also need an Axie Account which I assume that you already have. It is the account that you use to login in to the marketplace.
Go to the Katana Dex Website and Connect Your Wallet
Go to the Katana Dex Website and make sure to use the correct URL: katana.roninchain.com After going to the site, just click the ‘Connect Ronin Wallet’ button to connect your Ronin Wallet.
If you successfully connected your wallet then you’ll see the amount of AXS that you have on the upper right.
Swap Tokens
After that, you can now choose what tokens you want to swap.
Liquidity Pool
Besides swapping tokens, You can also deposit assets into liquidity pools and be rewarded (not always guaranteed) both a share of the trading fees and RON Tokens. These tokens are the ecosystem token for the Ronin Chain and will eventually be used for all transactions.
Farm
In this feature, you can stake your LP Tokens to earn RON. You need to have LP Tokens before you can stake, and you can only earn these LP Tokens by providing liquidity.
