Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, just like any other Multiplayer Battle Online Arena, revolves around their unique set of heroes. You use these mobile legends characters to defeat your opponents and destroy their base ultimately.
As of writing, there are 96 unique heroes in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Original Server and 101 in the advanced server. They are categorized into 6 different roles such as Tank, Fighter, Assassin, Marksman, Mage, and Support. Each of them has 3 sets of skills (some have 4) and a passive ability.
You can play these heroes by purchasing them using Battle points or Diamonds, waiting for it to be free in a weekly rotation, or purchasing a Starlight pass.

Tank
Tank heroes or the frontliners are the ones who usually take charge in a team fight and absorb a lot of damage. They are designed to withstand a lot of incoming attacks and to protect squishy heroes. They are known for their durability and crowd control abilities.
Fighter
Fighter Heroes are much like Tank heroes but deal a lot of physical damage. They are mostly melee, can serve as a tank, damage dealer, initiator, or a crowd controller.
Assassin
Assassin heroes are not that durable compared to tanks and fighters but they are known for being agile and can eliminate single and high priority targets. They are known for their mobility and if played correctly, can cause massive problems to enemy teams.
Marksman
Marksmen are designed to be monsters in the late game. They are relatively weak in the early game because of their item dependency but if played and farmed well, can almost secure victories. They are known to be the hyper carries as their main role is to carry their team to victory because of its late-game advantages.
Mage
Mage heroes or Nukers are known for dealing magic damages to their opponents. Like assassins, they can deal burst damage to enemies combined with their utility and crowd control abilities.
Support
Support heroes are known to be the protector and help their teammates secure hero kills. Their primary role is to support their teammates using their abilities and items. They also make sure that they keep their carries alive during clashes and engagements.
