Jax is a melee fighter and duelist, adapt at killing targets one at a time while surviving attacks from surrounding enemies. His ability sets makes him one of the game’s top duelists.
How to Play Jax
- Use Leap Strike to chase enemies
- You can also use Leap Strike on allied champions or minions to escape
- Leap Strike can let you pass through walls
- You can use Empower to ensure kills on minions
- You can also use Empower on turrets
- Using Empower resets your autoattack
- Use Counter Strike to dodge incoming attacks
- Use Counter Strike in advance so you can recast it immediately to stun enemies
- Try not to go in first as you are more useful as a damage source than an initiator
- Jax can be tanky as well because of his Ultimate, Grandmaster’s Might
- Skill Combo: 4th Skill > 3rd Skill > 2nd Skill > 1st Skill
Skills
Passive / Relentless Assault: Attack grants 3% attack speed for 3 seconds and stacks up to 5 times. Attack against champions and minions grant 2 stacks each/
Skill 1 / Leap Strike: Leaps to a target unit, dealing physical damage if its an enemy.
Skill 2 / Empower: Empowers the next attack or Leap Strike to deal an additional magic damage.
Skill 3 / Counter Strike: Enters a defensive stance, dodging all incoming attacks and taking 25% reduced damage from champions for 2 seconds. After this duration, nearby enemies are stunned for 1 second and take physical damage. Each attack dodged increases this damage by 20% up to 100%. Recast: Ends the defensive stance early to damage and stun nearby enemies immediately.
Skill 4 / Grandmaster’s Might: Passive: Every third consecutive attack deals an additional magic damage. Active: Jax stops holding back, gaining 30 armor for 8 seconds.

Runes
- Conqueror – Gain stacks of Adaptive Force when hitting a champion with separate attacks or abilities. When fully stacked, deal bonus adaptive damage to champions. Stacks up to 5 times.
- Brutal – Gain 7 AD and 2% armor penetration, or 14 AP and 2% magic penetration.
- Adaptive Carapace – Gain 50 health. While below 50% health, gain 12 AR or 12 MR based on the damage type you took more of over the last 60 seconds.
- Hunter Genius – Gain 2.5 Ability Haste. Unique champion takedowns grant 2.5 Ability Haste.
