The worst part in playing any online game just like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is when your internet connection acts up. Because of this, you might experience ‘Lag’ which can make your gaming experience a nightmare.
I think the only solution is to find another internet provider, but in places like my Country which is the Philippines, we don’t have much choice. It has been a known fact that our internet is not up to par compared to other countries.
My internet at home right now is very unstable that is why i’m very cautious before I queue up for a rank game because I don’t want other players to lose because of me and I also risk getting reported because of being AFK.
Luckily for us, Mobile Legends Bang Bang has many features that can save us from this ordeal.
Reduce Ping in Mobile Legends
Speed Mode
If you are in match and your ping suddenly goes up, you can boost your data by going into settings by clicking the gear icon.
After that, go to Network Setting and turn on Speed Mode. Enabling this will make the ping issue more stable at the cost of more data usage.
Remember that it will consume more data to give you a smoother gameplay so it will eat up a lot of bandwidth and probably a not a good solution if you are using cellular data that has limited internet usage.
Network Boost
If it is not working, then it is best to go to Plan B and it inclues using both wifi connection and your mobile data. Enabling this will make the game use both WiFi and 4G connection at the same time to boost your network connection.
You can only use this if you have WiFi connection and Cellular Network data turned on. Take note that if you don’t have available data on your Cellular Network then this feature won’t work.
This is also unavailable with Android versions below Android 6.0.
Both this feature of Mobile Legends has been a live savior for me especially having a not so stable internet connection. I also want to share that the Network Boost never failed me and it is always turned on whenever I want to play important rank games.
Network Test
As much as possible, you might want to avoid going into queue if you’re not sure if your internet is quite stable. But how would you know that?
Fortunately for us, Mobile Legends added a new feature that lets us test our ping first before going into a match.
To do this, just go to the main menu, go to settings then Network Test.
Click to Tap to Test and after that it is done testing, it will tell you if you have a good signal strength and low network delay enough to play a match.
The result above was so good, so the test gave me a go signal to play and enjoy the game.
Prevention is better than cure, so they say. So If you don’t want to experience a match that has high delay then you might as well don’t go into queue if you know to yourself that you have a bad connection.
This will save you a lot of time and will also save you from stress caused by playing games with high ping.
Personally, I was glad that Mobile Legends: Bang Bang was able to implement this kind of changes, making the game more enjoyable today as ever before.
