Metamask is a cryptocurrency wallet which is used to interact with the Ethereum Blockchain. It can be added and accessed as an extension through browsers such as Google Chrome, Mozille Firefox, Opera and Brave Browser.
Setting up an account in Metamask in your browser is quite easy, you just need to do these steps:
Install a Browser
For this tutorial, I will be using a Brave Browser which can be downloaded here: Brave Browser Download or you can also you Chrome, Firefox or Opera.
Install MetaMask Extension
After installing your Brave Browser, open it navigate to this link https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/metamask/nkbihfbeogaeaoehlefnkodbefgpgknn.
Click “Add to Brave” then “Add Extension”.
After that, you will be redirected to the image above and you just click “Get Started” so you can setup your account.
Create Wallet
Click “Create Wallet” and then Click “I Agree”.
You will now be asked to create a password for you account. Make sure that it is strong and you’ll remember it easily. Enter your password, check the Terms of Use and click Create.
You will now see an Introduction Video about MetaMask but you can just skip it (if you want to) and click Next.
You will be given a Secret Backup Phrase that you can use to restore your account. Just click the “Click Here to Reveal Secret Words”. After that, copy your Phrase into a notepad and click Next.
You shouldn’t disclose this to anyone as they may take your Ether with this. It is also advisable to download the secret phrase or write it down and secure it on a safe location.
After that you will be asked to confirm your Secret Backup Phrase in order. After that click “Confirm”.
And that’s it, you’ve successfully created your MetaMask Wallet. You can always access this on the Extension Menu at the top of your browsers. Your Address can be found below Account1 (refer to the image above) and you can just click it to copy it.
