BattleTag, or your name in the game, is a player-chosen nickname that identifies your Battle.net account in Blizzard games. One good thing about this BattleTag is it doesn’t have to be unique, so you won’t have to worry about anyone using your preferred name. The catch is Each BattleTag is assigned a numeric ID to make it unique.
If you’re wondering if you can change your BattleTag once you’ve created one, then the answer is yes. If you’re already sick of your old name then you can easily change it by going to battle.net and following the instructions below.
Take note that you will be needing BattleTag Change that costs $10 to change your BattleTag. Don’t worry though, if it is your first time changing your BattleTag then you will be given one free BattleTag change.
Step-By-Step Process on How to Change Your Name in Starcraft 2
- Go to battle.net and login to your account
- Once you are logged in, click your battle tag in the upper right corner of the website and then click ‘Account Settings’
3. Click ‘Account Details’ on the left side under Account Overview then after that, click the ‘UPDATE’ icon in the BattleTag section. BattleTag is your public identity or name in Blizzard games. My current BattleTag below is Juami#1969.
4. Once you click ‘UPDATE’, you can now choose what BattleTag you want to use. You will get one free BattleTag change and all the succeeding ones will be charged. You can also randomize your BattleTag if you want. Click ‘Change Your BattleTag’ to change your name.
