Valorant Game Modes

Valorant is a free-to-play 5v5 competitive tactical shooter from the first-person (FPS) perspective created by Riot Games.

It allows you to use agents with different abilities plus the unique guns together with games modes for an exciting gameplay that you’ve never experienced before.

As of writing, there are 3 game modes in Valorant and I will list them down below.

Unrated

Unrated is the standard Valorant gameplay where you’ll take turns between attacking and defending.

  • You will be divided into two teams of 5: Attackers and Defenders
  • The goal is to wipe out all enemies or complete objectives as Attackers or Defenders
  • You will start as Attackers or defenders and in the 2nd half your roles will be switched
  • Attackers will need to plant the spike before the allotted time
  • Defenders will need to stop attackers from planting the spike or defuse it before the timer stops
  • The first team to win 13 rounds wins
  • 1st round will be the Pistol round where you only have 800 money
  • You get money by wins and kills
  • You also get money even if you lose a round
  • You can Buy guns and Skills every round if necessary
  • You retain skills 1 and 2 in the next round if it is unused
  • You retain your guns if you don’t die in the round
  • Matches last between 30 to 40 minutes

Spike Rush

Spike Rush is a faster version of Unrated with the same rules. There are random power-up orbs and randomized weapons.

  • You can’t choose the guns that you will use
  • First to four round wins
  • All members on the attacking side have its own spike
  • Matches last between 8 to 12 minutes.

Deathmatch

Deathmatch is a free for all deathmatch where agents’ abilities are discarded and you’re only allowed to use guns.

  • Perfect game mode to practice your Valorant gunplay.
  • Infinite money
  • You’re on your own
  • First to 30 kills wins
  • You revive after 3 seconds
  • or Highest kills when the time runs out wins
  • Matches last between 5 to 8 minutes

That’s all for now for the Valorant Game modes. If you have questions or recommendations you can share them below.
