Varus is a marksman champion that is a mix of physical ranged carry and caster, adept at whittling down individual targets or assassinating them from afar. He has a mix of persistent and burst damage, making him an exceptional additional to any team composition.
How to Play Varus
- Poke enemies with Piercing Arrow
- You can use Blighted Quiver before Piercing Arrow for increased damage
- You can use Flash while channeling Piercing Arrow
- Enemies affected by Blight receives more damage
- The longer you charge your Piercing Arrow, the higher its damage
- Use Hail of Arrows and Piercing Arrows to clear minion waves faster
- Hail of Arrows is very effective on heroes who have self-healing
- Chain of Corruption passes through minions
- Chain of Corruption provides temporary vision to those champion it hits
- You can use Chain of Corruption on enemies to secure your escape
- You can do a physical or magic type build for Varus
Skills
Passive / Living Vengeance: Gain 40% attack speed for 5 seconds on a champion kill or assist. 20% on non-champion kills.
Skill 1 / Piercing Arrow: Hold: Draws the bow, gradually increasing the range and damage for the next shot. Movement speed is slowed by 20% while preparing to shoot. Release: Fires the arrow, dealing physical damage, reduced by 15% per enemy hit.
Skill 2 / Blighted Quiver: Passive: Attack deal bonus magic damage and apply blight for 6 seconds. Varus’ other abilities detonate blight, dealing magic damage. Active: Doubles the bonus on hit damage from Blighted Quiver’s passive for 6 seconds. The next Piercing Arrow deals bonus magic damage.
Skill 3 / Hail of Arrows: Fires a hall of arrows tat deals physical damage and desecrates the ground for 4 seconds. Desecrated ground slows enemies by 25% and applies Grievous Wounds.
Skill 4 / Chain of Corruption: Flings out a tendril of corruption that deals magic damage and roots the first enemy champion hit for 2 seconds. The corruption spreads toward nearby enemy champions, immobilizing them on contact. Immobilized targets gain 3 Blight stacks over the next 3 seconds.

Runes
- Conqueror – Gain stacks of Adaptive Force when hitting a champion with separate attacks or abilities. Deal bonus adaptive damage to champions. Stacks up to 5 times.
- Triumph – Champion takedowns restore 10% missing health. Deal 3% more damage to enemies below 35% health.
- Second Wind – Gain 6 health every 5 seconds. After taking damage from an enemy champion, regenerate missing heath over the next 10 seconds. This effect is doubled for melee champions.
- Hunter Genius – Gain 2.5 Ability Haste. Unique champion takedowns grant 2.5 Ability Haste.
- Conqueror – Gain stacks of Adaptive Force when hitting a champion with separate attacks or abilities. Deal bonus adaptive damage to champions. Stacks up to 5 times.
- Gathering Storm – Every 3 minutes, gain increasing Adaptive AD or AP based on game time.
- Second Wind – Gain 6 health every 5 seconds. After taking damage from an enemy champion, regenerate missing heath over the next 10 seconds. This effect is doubled for melee champions.
- Sweet Tooth – Increases Honeyfruit healing by 25%. Whenever you or a nearby ally eats a Honeyfruit gain 20 gold.
