Rengar Wild Rift Guide, Build and Strategy

Rengar is an assassin / jungler who uses his unique ferocity mechanic to amplify his abilities in taking down enemies. He is known in sneaking up in lanes and ambushing enemies from the bush. He is also touted as the ‘King of the Jungle’ and feared by many due to his quickness and deadly damage.

How to Play Rengar

• Rengar’s passive, Unseen Predator, makes him a great ganker
• Make sure to take paths through bush before attacking enemies to trigger Unseen Predator
• Rengar can jump through walls using Unseen Predator
• Battle Roar is an AoE ability making it a good skill on teamfights
• Ferocity Charged Battle Roar is also good in sustaining as it heals Rengar some of the damage he taken
• Rengar can use his 3rd skill, Bola Strike, while jumping
• His Ultimate, Thrill of the Hunt, doesn’t make him invisible immediately so it is better to cast it earlier before engaging
• Use Ultimate and focus on taking down high-damage or low health targets first
• Using his Ultimate with 4 Ferocity charges can lead to high burst damage
• You can also use Ultimate to escape from enemies
• Skill Combo: 4th skill > Basic Attack > 1st Skill > 3rd Skill > 2nd Skill

Skills

Passive / Unseen Predator: If Rengar is in a bush or camouflaged, he will leap to the target with his next attack. If Rengar has no Ferocity he gains 1 Ferocity. Bonetooth Necklace: Gains 5%-25% attack damage for each unique champion takedown.

Skill 1 / Savagery: Rengar’s next 2 attacks within 3 seconds gain 50% attack speed. The first attack is empowered to deal an additional physical damage. Ferocity: Gains 55% attack speed for 5 seconds instead, The first attack deals an additional physical damage instead.

Skill 2 / Battle Roar: Rengar roars, dealing magic damage and healing for 50% of damage taken in the last 2 seconds. Ferocity: Deals magic damage instead. Rengar also gains 40% movement speed for 2.5 seconds and removes all crowd control effects from himself.

Skill 3 / Bola Strike: Throws a bola that deals physical damage and slows enemies by 45% for 1.75 seconds. Ferocity: Deals physical damage and roots instead.

Skill 4 / Thrill of the Hunt: Gains 30% movement speed and reveals the nearest enemy champion for 12 seconds. Rengar becomes camouflaged after 1 second and his next attack shreds the target’s armor by 16 for 4 seconds.

Runes

• Electrocute – Hitting a champion with 3 separate attacks or abilities in 3 seconds deals bonus adaptive damage
• Brutal – Gain 7 AD and 2% armor penetration, or 14 AP and 2% magic penetration
• Hunter Titan – Gain 20 max health. Unique champion takedowns grant 20 max health and 4% tenacity.
• Hunter Genius – Gain 2.5 Ability Haste. Unique champion takedowns grant 2.5 Ability Haste.
