Rakan is a support / tank hero who is good in utility and assisting teammates. He has a very good sustain, providing shield and some heal to her allies. He has very flashy skills, relying on his combo to turn any battle in his team’s favor. He gets additional ability effects when played with her partner Xayah.
How to Play Rakan
- Rakan is best utilized when he has teammates near him
- Poke enemies with Gleaming Quill
- Make sure to hit enemy champions with Gleaming Quill to have good sustain in the laning stages
- Use Grand Entrance to initiate teamfights or takedowns
- You can also use Grand Entrance as an escape mechanism
- Your Ultimate is a good tool for chasing enemies or for escaping too
- Aside of protecting allies, Battle Dance can be used for escaping too
- Increasing movement speed is greatly beneficial to Rakan
- You can use Rakan as a pure tank or pure support, depending your build
- Skill Combo: 4th Skill > 2nd Skill > 3rd Skill > 1st Skill
Skills
Passive / Fey Feathers: Every 40 seconds, he gains health shield. Attacks and abilities on enemy champions reduced this cooldown by 1 second.
Lovers Leap: Xayah and Rakan can join each other’s recall. Both will reach the Summoning Platform when the initiator’s recall ends.
Skill 1 / Gleaming Quill: Flings a magical feather that deals magic damage to the first enemy hit. If the feather hits a champion or epic monster, Rakan restores health to himself and nearby allies after 3 seconds or if he touches an ally.
Skill 2 / Grand Entrance: Rakan dashes to a location. Upon arrival, He leaps into the air dealing magic damage and knocking up enemies for 1 second.
Skill 3 / Battle Dance: Flies to an allied champion, granting them a shield that absorbs damage for 3 seconds. This skill can be recast for free within 5 seconds.
Skill 4 / The Quickness: Gains 50% movement speed for 4 seconds. Touching enemies will deal magic damage and charms them 1 second. This may only occur once per unit. The first champion charmed grants Rakan 100% decaying movement speed.

Runes
- Aftershock – After immobilizing an enemy champion, gain defenses and later deal a burst of magic damage around you
- Weakness – Impairing the movement of enemy champion makes them take 5% more damage in the following 5 seconds
- Loyalty – You gain 2 AR and 5 MR. Your closest ally champion gains 5 AR and 2 MR
- Pack Hunter – While near ally champions, gain 2% movement speed. For each unique ally you participate in a takedown with, you gain 50 gold and the ally gains 50 gold.
