Jayce is a fighter/marksman hero who can deal high burst damage. Jayce can change between melee and ranged, either initiating fights and soaking damage or taking out enemies from afar. Clever manipulation of these two stances is the key to victory.
How to Play Jayce
- Everytime Jayce switches weapons he gains bonus movement speed for a short time
- Switch to Hammer Stance if you find yourself taking a lot of damage
- Jayce excels in laning solo as he can deal plenty of damage in a short time
- Shock Blasts reveals enemy on the fog of war
- Poke enemies with Shock blast
- For increased range and damage, try casting Shock Blast Shock Blast through the Acceleration Gate Acceleration Gate
- Use Lightning Field to clear minion waves faster
- You can pass through Acceleration gate to gain extra movement speed
Skills
Passive / Hextech Capacitor: Transforming between the Mercury Hammer and Mercury Cannon grants 40 movement speed for 1.25 seconds.
Skill / To the Skies: Leaps to an enemy, dealing physical damage and slowing nearby enemies by 35% for 2 seconds.
Shock Blast: Fires an orb of electricity that detonates on hitting an enemy or reaching the end of its path, dealing physical damage. Orbs fired through an acceleration gate travel farther and faster, increasing their damage by 50%.
Skill 2 / Lightning Field (Melee): Passive: Attacks with the Mercury Hammer restore 8 mana. Active: Releases an electrifying aura, dealing magic damage over 4 seconds to nearby enemies.
Hyper Charge (Range): Gains a burst of energy, increasing attack speed to maximum for 3 attacks within 4 seconds. These attacks deal physical damage.
Skill 3 / Thundering Blow (Melee): Knocks a target and enemies near them backwards, dealing magic damage equal to 8% of their maximum health.
Acceleration Gate (Range): Deploys an Acceleration Gate that grants 35% decaying movement speed for 3 seconds to ally champions that pass through it. Shock Blasts fired through the gate travel farther and faster, increasing their damage by 50%.
Skill 4 / Mercury Cannon (Range): Transform the Mercury Hammer into the Mercury Cannon, gaining new abilities and ranged attacks. The next attack with the Mercury Cannon is empowered to deal an additional magic damage and reduce the target’s armor and magic resist by 11% for 5 seconds.
Mercury Hammer (Melee): Transforms the Mercury Cannon into the Mercury Hammer, gaining new abilities, 16% attack speed and 5 armor and magic resist. The next attack with the Mercury Hammer is empowered to deal an additional magic damage.

Runes
- Conqueror – Gain stacks of adaptive force when hitting a champion with separate attacks or abilities. When fully stacked, deal bonus adaptive damage to champions. Stacks up to 5 times.
- Brutal – Gain 7 AD or 14 AP.
- Hunter Titan – Gain 20 max health. Unique champion takedowns grant 20 max health and 4% tenacity.
- Sweet Tooth – Increases honeyfruit healing by 25%. Whenever you or a nearby ally eats a honeyfruit gain 20 gold.
