According to many forums I’ve visited such as this, leaving your Nintendo Switch on Sleep Mode would not pose any problem as the console is design for it to be that way.
But lets just say that you won’t be using it for a while and you don’t want its battery to be drained while in sleep mode, then you can consider turning it off.
Take note that you if are currently downloading a game or an update then it is best to put it on Sleep Mode so the system can continue to download it without the extra power. To put your Nintendo Switch on Sleep Mode, just push the power button on top of your console.
Turning off your Nintendo Switch
Turning off your Nintendo Switch is quite simple. You just need to long press the power button at the top of your console and doing this will make this menu appear. After that, click Power Options.
After clicking ‘Power Options’, you will now see two options whether to ‘Restart’ or ‘Turn Off’. Click the latter to turn off your Nintendo Switch.
To turn it on again you just need to press the Power button.
