Getting sick of Facebook and want a new virtual world to share your thoughts? Good news for you lad because you came to the right article. I know the likes of Twitter and Facebook are a bit saturated nowadays and you wonder if you can get a fresh start again in another social media platform, then Grandweb.com just might be the answer that you’ve been looking for.

Grandweb is a Social Networking Q&A / Blogging site where you can post and share a topic, ask a question or answer at the same time, post blogs on every possible niche that you know, and a lot more. It is created by Joseph Corpuz, a Filipino Developer from Pasig City. Aside from being fresh, the site has some features similar to Facebook but has its own unique one making it a good alternative haven for us internet junkees.

Notable Features:

You can ask questions, answer, like, comment, and share anonymously

Yes, you’ve read it right. You can post anything without having to disclose your identity. Though for some it may seem problematic but here’s the catch, any post you made anonymously will still be under admin approval. So if you have bad intentions in the community then you still have time to rethink your plans. The anonymous feature is not applicable to posting blogs, tutorials, articles, or stories. You need to create an account for you to do so.

You can share Youtube videos

I think this feature is a gem, especially to vloggers because it is a way of self-promoting. But it is also good for people who just want to share videos just because it’s hilarious or it’s informational. Sharing is caring, remember?

You can post blogs and articles

Aspiring and newbie bloggers can also use Grandweb as their stepping stone to their blogging career as you can also post your own made blogs and articles on this site. You are required though to create an account and to log in by doing so.

Real-Time Chat

Just like Facebook, you can also chat with other people real-time. The catch is you can only chat to people you’ve befriended with so better tap that Add friend button and make some new friends!

Works on mobile browsers

Since Grandweb is still under development and still has a lot of experimental features, there are still no mobile applications for it. The good thing is the site itself is very responsive to mobile browsers and personally, it feels like a mobile app.

Development:

As of writing, the website is still under development. The developer is also asking for some volunteer beta testers to try their app. Though there’s no compensation for those volunteers, it is still a fulfilling job if you want to help a fellow developer.

If you want to reach out to the founder of Grandweb, you can visit their Facebook Page or go directly to their site.
