Galio is a tank hero who is a very good counter to mages. He is one of the few tanks in the Rift that is played in the mid lane. Galio can jump around the map saving his teammates, dealing sufficient damage and good crowd control.
How to Play Galio
- Take advantage of your passive by harassing enemies in the early game
- You can also use your passive to hit towers
- Use 1st skill to poke enemies in the lane
- 1st Skill can also be used to clear minion waves faster
- You can combine 2nd skill with flash to surprise enemies and taunt them
- You can also use your 2nd skill first before your 1st skill to make it hit
- Use your 2nd skill if you see a skill that is going to hit you
- The longer you charge your 2nd skill, the longer its duration and range
- Use your 3rd skill to initiate or escape from enemies
- Be aware of your map to see if there is a teammate that needs your Ultimate
Skills
Passive / Colossal Smash: Enhances his next attack to deal magic damage to nearby enemies.
Skill 1 / Winds of War: Fires two windblasts that deal magic damage and converge into a tornado. The tornado deals magic damage equal to 8% of target’s maximum health over 1.5 seconds.
Skill 2 / Shield of Durand: Passive: Every 12 seconds, upon taking magic damage, Galio gains a shield that absorbs magic damage for 3.5 seconds.
Hold: Enters a defensive stance, slowing himself by 25% for up to 2 seconds. Takes 25% reduced magic damage and 12.5% reduced physical damage.
Release: Deals magic damage to nearby enemies and taunts them for 0.5-1.5 seconds depending on hold time.
Skill 3 / Justice Punch: Dashes forward until he hits an enemy champion or terrain, dealing magic damage to enemies knocking them up for 0.75 seconds.
Ultimate / Hero’s Entrance: Grants Shield of Durand’s passive shield for 3.5 seconds to all allied champions near the target and designates the position as his landing spot. After 2.5 seconds, Galio arrives at the location, dealing magic damage to nearby enemies and knocking them up for 0.75 seconds.

Runes
- Electrocute – Hitting a champion with 3 separate attacks or abilities in 3 seconds deals bonus adaptive damage
- Weakness – Impairing the movement of enemy champions makes them take 5% more damage in the following 5 seconds.
- Hunter Titan – Gain 20 max health. Unique champion takedown grant 20 max health and 4% tenacity.
- Manaflow Band – Hitting an enemy champion with an ability or empowered attack permanently increases you mana by 30, up to 300 mana.
