Your favorite Bandicoot is now on Mobile! Crash Bandicoot: On the Run! is a 3D running video game where you run, spin, swipe and smash to defeat the evil henchmen of Dr. Neo Cortex. You will play as Crash or Coco and speed your way through mysterious lands, build an arsenal of weapons to defeat the enemies.
In this article, I will teach you about the basics and the mechanics of the game . Take note that you must be connected to the internet to connect to the game.
Gameplay
Gameplay is very simple, you just need to tap the screen once so Crash can start running. Slide up to jump from obstacles, and slide down to do the same.
They also added some Classic Crash Bandicoot elements into the game such as destroying crates to get Wumpa Fruit or get an Aku Aku Protection.
Unlike some endless running video game, there is a boss waiting for you at the end of each level for you to defeat. Defeating them is simple. When you reach the boss, you just need to tap the ingredient as close as possible in the middle to able to throw it to the boss.
Mechanics
The gameplay is simple, but there are a lot of things to do before you even start playing a level.
Before you proceed to any level, you need to have a certain ingredient that you must have to defeat the boss. These ingredients also requires materials for you to create them. These ingredients are made in the Nitro Lab which is located in your base.
Where do you go the materials for these ingredients?
You can collect these materials on Wumpa Island. But the resources are not unlimited and you need to wait for the alloted time for it to be refilled. But if you’re impatient then you can spend real money to refill it automatically.
After collecting these ingredients, you can now go back to Nitro Lab to create the weapon that you need to proceed to the level. Take note that the creation of these weapons take time but you can also use Purple Crystals (real money) to speed up the process. After creating the weapon then you can now proceed to the level and defeat the boss.
Characters
You are also free to choose who to playbetween Crash or Coco. The latter is unlocked later in the game.
Skins
Unlike other games where skins are just aesthetics, in Crash Bandicoot, they provide bonuses.
Example is the Skunk Skin, where you will have an Aku Aku Mask every time you start a level. There are also a lot of Skins available that you can buy with real money.
